The Texas State Archives contain one list of 88 troops known as Captain W.A. Brown’s Company of Cavalry at Weston, Collin County, Texas. The list is hand written on Census tables of some type. This list gives names. The only person’s who ranks are shown are those of the officers, Captain and Lieutenants. Notes on the list show it as a Muster Roll of W.A. Brown’s 15th Brigade. That is a Texas State Militia Brigade.

No dates are shown on the list, but it was probably made in 1861. Apparently some of the privates enlisted with Company G of the 11th Texas Cavalry on January 22, 1861.

The neighboring town of McKinney in Collin County is where Company G of the 11th Texas Cavalry came from. Several of the men in this Company served in the 11th Texas Cavalry. Therefore, the list is reproduced here as written. Some of the names take interpretation of script and are the best guess of the writer.
