Corporals
W. T. Bigbee  Enrolled as a private in the original Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861, Mustering in on June 17, 1861 in Fannin County, Texas.  Last name shown as Bigbee on the first State Muster Roll and shown as Bigby on the Corrected one.  The final State Muster Roll shows him as private W. T. Bigbee.

   Has his last name also listed as Bigby in Confederate records.  He mustered in to Confederate service as a private.  He is later shown as 2nd Corporal, elected on the May 8, 1862 reoranization.  The Corporal was returned to rank of private on July 1, 1863 and was present, as such, through the final muster.

William R. Byrum Recruited into Texas State Cavalry Service on August 28, 1861 along with 31 others for replacement of the 44 privates who were discharged on that date.  He mustered out of State Service and into the Confederate Cavalry on October 2, 1861 at Camp Reeves, Grayson County, Texas.

   Was 1st Corporal in original Confederate organization.  Byrum was demoted to private rank with the 1862 reorganization.  He was listed as Absent Without Leave on December 6, 1863.  He was listed as Deserted and dropped from Company Roll on February 4, 1864 by Order of General W. T. Martin. 

Federal records list him as Captured on December 6, 1863 in Union County, Tennessee and sent to Rock Island Barracks, Illinois. 

Back on Confederate records, his name also appears furloughed for 30 days on March 8, 1865 for Debilitis on rolls from Jackson, Hospital in Richmond, Virginia.  He is on Hospital Muster Roll of paroled prisoners, sick in 3rd Division General Hospital, Camp Winder, Richmond, Virginia. 
He was paroled on March 28, 1865 at Chattanooga, Tennessee.  Byrum took an oath of allegiance on May 5, 1865 and listed residence as Sumner County, Tennessee. 

E. W. Cummins Has his last name also recorded as Cummens.  He enlisted in the 11th Texas Cavalry on March 1, 1862 at Van Buren, Arkansas by Lieutenant Colonel Diamond.  He was present in the ranks until shown as promoted to 2nd Corporal on December 31, 1863 Muster Roll.  On that muster, he is shown as with General Wharton.  The Corporal was on Detached Service with Captain Porter, A.Q.M. at the time of the final Muster Roll.

G. J. Hamill  Recruited into Texas State Cavalry Service as a private on August 28, 1861 along with 31 others for replacement of the 44 privates who were discharged on that date.  He mustered out of State Service and into the Confederate Cavalry on October 2, 1861 at Camp Reeves, Grayson County, Texas.

   Last name also recorded as Hamel on Confederate records.  He mustered in to Confederate service as a private.  Present, as private, and sick for the 1861 Muster Roll. 

Hamill was elected as 4th Corporal on May 8, 1862.  He is shown at this level on the 1862 and April 30, 1863 Muster Rolls.  Returned to ranks as a private prior to the December 31, 1863 Muster Roll and remained present, as such, through the final muster.

John T. Kennedy Recruited as a private into Texas State Cavalry Service on August 28, 1861 along with 31 others for replacement of the 44 privates who were discharged on that date.  He mustered out of State Service and into the Confederate Cavalry on October 2, 1861 at Camp Reeves, Grayson County, Texas.

   Was 4th Corporal in the original Confederate organization.  He was present for the 1861 Confederate Muster Roll and then discharged for disability in 1862.

H. C. Lee  Was elected 4th Corporal of the Texas State Infantry Company at the time of his Enrollment on June 12, 1861. .  He mustered into State Service on June 17, 1861 in Fannin County, Texas.  Shown at the same rank on the “Corrected” Muster Roll.  Corporal Lee was Discharged on August 28, 1861.

Joseph McDonald Was elected 1st Corporal of the original Texas State Infantry Company at the time of his Enrollment on June 12, 1861.  He mustered into the State Service on June 17, 1861 in Fannin County, Texas.  Corporal McDonald was Discharged from the State Service on August 28, 1861.

William H. Penick Enlisted in the 11th Texas Cavalry on February 1, 1862 at Honey Grove, Fannin County, Texas by Captain Nicholson.  He was elected as 1st Corporal on December 3, 1862.  Corporal Penick was on detached service at Rome, Georgia in the Fall of 1863 and final Muster Roll.

William P. Reed Was elected 3rd Corporal of the Texas State Infantry Company at the time of his Enrollment on June 12, 1861.  He mustered into State Service on June 17, 1861 in Fannin County, Texas.  The middle initial appears to be an “R.” on the first 2 Texas State Rolls.  Reed mustered out of the State Cavalry Service at the same rank on October 2, 1861.

   Reed was also the 3rd Corporal in the original Confederate organization.  He is shown "sick" for the 1861 Muster Roll.

Reed was demoted from 3rd Corporal to private, due to sickness in 1862.  He is listed as absent, sick at Hospital in Cleveland, Tennessee on Muster Roll ending April 30, 1863.  The last two muster rolls have remarks reading: " at Cleveland Hospital, been 12 months since heard from".  An invoice from Academy Hospital at Marietta, Georgia says he died on June 15, 1863 and left $26.

William M. Smith Recruited as a private into Texas State Cavalry Service on August 28, 1861 along with 31 others for replacement of the 44 privates who were discharged on that date.  He mustered out of State Service and into the Confederate Cavalry on October 2, 1861 at Camp Reeves, Grayson County, Texas.

   Was the 2nd Corporal in the original Confederate organization.  He was listed as "sick" on 1861 Muster Roll.  He was discharged for disability in 1862.  No exact date is given. 

 Ensign

George W. Kirk Enrolled as a private in the original Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861, Mustering in on June 17, 1861 in Fannin County, Texas. He mustered out of the State Service and into the Confederate Young’s Texas Cavalry on October 2, 1861.

   Was Ensign in the original Confederate organization and through the reorganization.  He was discharged for loss of right leg on December 12, 1862.  Discharge shows Captain Thomas Shaw commanding company and is signed by 1st Lieutenant Nathan Burks and Acting Surgeon D. B. Burks.  He was 27 years old, born in Giles County, Tennessee and a Stockdriver before the war. 

 Musician

William E. Gutherie Recruited into Texas State Cavalry Service on August 28, 1861 along with 31 others for replacement of the 44 privates who were discharged on that date.  He mustered out of State Service and into the Confederate Cavalry on October 2, 1861 at Camp Reeves, Grayson County, Texas.  Last name also written as Guthery.

   Was Bugler as of October 3, 1861.  Present and sick for the 1861 Muster Roll.  Wounded at the battle of Richmond and left in Kentucky, upon Bragg's Retreat. 

He was captured by Federal troops on October 30, 1862 at Richmond, giving age as 31 years old.  Imprisoned at Lexington, Kentucky until transferred to Louisville on November 26, 1862.  Shipped to Vicksburg, via Cairo, Illinois on the steamboat Mary Crane and exchanged. 

Gutherie returned to the Command by the 1862 Muster Roll and was present on all following Muster Rolls.  His name appears as present on a Hospital Muster Roll at Texas Hospital in Auburn, Alabama on June 30, 1864. 

Files contain correspondence regarding Gutherie's military records from the AGO, dated January 20, 1911.  Files also contain a typed letter decribing these records to Mrs. John W. Curry in Tuscumbia, Alabama from Major General K. M. Bush, Acting Adjutant General, dated April 30, 1952.
 

 Privates

James P. Alexander Was recruited into Texas State Cavalry Service on August 28, 1861 along with 31 others for replacement of the 44 privates who were discharged on that date.  He mustered out of State Service and into the Confederate Cavalry on October 2, 1861 at Camp Reeves, Grayson County, Texas.

   He was present, not paid and sick for the 1861 Confederate Muster Roll.  Died of disease at Van Buren, Arkansas on March 18, 1862. 

On October 19, 1863 his father, Elias Alexander appeared in the court in Lamar County, Texas giving affidat that James died leaving no wife or children.  Elias petitioned the Governement of the Confederate States to obtain whatever may have been due his son at the time of his death for pay, bounty or other allowances for his services.  The record states that James was born in the state of Tennessee.

H. C. Allen  Was recruited into Texas State Cavalry Service on August 28, 1861 along with 31 others for replacement of the 44 privates who were discharged on that date.  He mustered out of State Service and into the Confederate Cavalry on October 2, 1861 at Camp Reeves, Grayson County, Texas.

   Private Allen was present for Confederate Service until captured at the battle of Murfreesboro on December 31, 1862.  Sent to Camp Douglas, Illinois.  Paroled and delivered to City Point, Virginia on April 4, 1863. 

He soon returned to the Regiment.  Unfortunately, he was mortally wounded by gun shot in engagement on the north bank of the Elk River (July 1, 1863).  Died on July 24, 1863.

J. M. Allen  Enlisted in 11th Texas Cavalry, CSA on December 18, 1861 at Fayetteville, Arkansas.  From July 1863 to at least February 29, 1864 (last Muster Roll) he was on detached duty with Captain Granville Porter (Acting Commisary of Subsistance).

Jacob Apple  Enrolled as a private in the original Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861, Mustering in on June 17, 1861 in Fannin County, Texas.  Served the full time in the State Service.

   Apple was present for the Confederate 1861 Muster Roll.  Became sick at Corinth, Mississippi in May of 1862.  No more records on file.

Edwin R. Ashford Recruited into Texas State Cavalry Service on August 28, 1861 along with 31 others for replacement of the 44 privates who were discharged on that date.  He mustered out of State Service and into the Confederate Cavalry on October 2, 1861 at Camp Reeves, Grayson County, Texas.

   Ashford was from Bonner, Fannin County, Texas.  He was wounded at the battle of Murfreesboro, but returned to duty in early 1863. 

Private Ashford was captured by the enemy on January 12, 1864 near Talbert's Station, Tennessee.  Sent to prisons at Camp Chase, Ohio, Louisville, Kentucky and finally Rock Island, Illinois.  He was released on June 21, 1865 at age 32.

J. G. Ashton  Recruited into Texas State Cavalry Service on August 28, 1861 along with 31 others for replacement of the 44 privates who were discharged on that date.  He mustered out of State Service and into the Confederate Cavalry on October 2, 1861 at Camp Reeves, Grayson County, Texas.

   Private Aston was present for the 1861 Confederate records.  No further records.

E. C. Baker  Enrolled as a private in the original Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861, Mustering in on June 17, 1861 in Fannin County, Texas.  This name only appears on the first State Muster Roll.

J. D. Baker  Enlisted in the 11th Texas Cavalry, CSA, on February 1, 1862 in Honey Grove, Fannin County, Texas by Captain Nicholson.  Reported as absent, sick in Texas on the 1862 Muster Roll.  Never reported to his command, therefore listed as: deserted.

W. R. Baker  Recruited into Texas State Cavalry Service on August 28, 1861 along with 31 others for replacement of the 44 privates who were discharged on that date.  He mustered out of State Service and into the Confederate Cavalry on October 2, 1861 at Camp Reeves, Grayson County, Texas.

   His horse killed at the Battle of Elk Horn on March 7, 1862.  Was paid back for killed horse on August 16, 1863 at Camp Beech Creek, near Rome, Georgia.  Wounded at Morristown, Tennessee on December 29, 1863 and was sent to hospital.  Died of pneumonia on March 1, 1864 at the Ladies Relief Hospital in Lynchburg, Virginia.

H. C. Ballinger Recruited into Texas State Cavalry Service on August 28, 1861 along with 31 others for replacement of the 44 privates who were discharged on that date.  He mustered out of State Service and into the Confederate Cavalry on October 2, 1861 at Camp Reeves, Grayson County, Texas.

   Private Ballinger was reported sick on the 1861 Confederate Muster Roll.  No further records.

W. E. Bourn  Enlisted in the 11th Texas Cavalry, CSA, on February 1, 1862 at Honey Grove, Fannin County, Texas.  Absent from Corinth, Mississippi in May of 1862, sick.  No further record.

James I. Boyt  Enrolled as a private in the original Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861, Mustering in on June 17, 1861 in Fannin County, Texas.  Is shown on the Corrected with middle initial I.  He was Discharged from the State Service, along with 43 other privates in this Company, on August 28, 1861.  His last name appears like Bonet in the final State Muster Roll.

J. W. Braden  Only record is on 11th Texas Cavalry CSA Muster Roll for August 31 to December 31, 1862.  Listed as Discharged and paid for disability.

S. M. Bragg  Enrolled as a private in the original Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861, Mustering in on June 17, 1861 in Fannin County, Texas. He was Discharged from the State Service, along with 43 other privates in this Company, on August 28, 1861.

H. C. Bridge  Enrolled as a private in the original Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861, Mustering in on June 17, 1861 in Fannin County, Texas.  Shown first on the Corrected State Muster Roll.  He mustered out of the State Service and into the Confederate Cavalry on October 2, 1861.

   In Confederate Service, he was with Provost Guard in late 1862.  Private Bridge was on detached duty with White's Battery (Artillery) from July 1, 1863 through final Muster Roll.

E. M. (or H.)Brooks Enrolled as a private in the original Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861, Mustering in on June 17, 1861 in Fannin County, Texas. He mustered out of the State Service on October 2, 1861.  No Confederate records were found for service in this unit.

J. F. Brown  Recruited into Texas State Cavalry Service on August 28, 1861 along with 31 others for replacement of the 44 privates who were discharged on that date.  He mustered out of State Service and into the Confederate Cavalry on October 2, 1861 at Camp Reeves, Grayson County, Texas.

   Discharged for over-age on November 21, 1862 (age 40).  No Certificate of Discharge is included in records.  The discharge statement is remarked on the 1862 Muster Roll.

Labon Bryant  Discharged from CSA for Disability on May 26, 1862 by Captain Thomas Shaw.  Assistant Surgeon D. B. Burks found him unfit for duty due to hemorrhaging of the lungs.  A Certificate of discharge states that Private Bryant was born in Tennessee, was 45 years old and a Farmer by occupation.

B. W. Burnett(e) Confederate Soldier wounded (gun shot) at the battle of Murfreesboro and taken prisoner.  Died in January.  There is a note in his records to "See personal papers of L. T. Revel of Co. D, 38th Regiment Tennessee (Infantry).

T. R. Burnett  Enrolled as a private in the original Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861, Mustering in on June 17, 1861 in Fannin County, Texas.  He was Discharged from the State Service, along with 43 other privates in this Company, on August 28, 1861.

R. F. Cagle  Enrolled as a private in the original Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861, Mustering in on June 17, 1861 in Fannin County, Texas.  Shown on the Corrected State Muster Roll but not on the first one. He was Discharged from the State Service, along with 43 other privates in this Company, on August 28, 1861.

W. S. Carlisle  Enrolled as a private in the original Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861, Mustering in on June 17, 1861 in Fannin County, Texas. He was Discharged from the State Service, along with 43 other privates in this Company, on August 28, 1861.

J. S. Catron  Recruited into Texas State Cavalry Service on August 28, 1861 along with 31 others for replacement of the 44 privates who were discharged on that date.  He mustered out of State Service and into the Confederate Cavalry on October 2, 1861 at Camp Reeves, Grayson County, Texas.

   Private Catron was present in the Confederate Service until reported as Sick on May 13, 1862.  No further records.

Ephraim Choat is shown as Ephram Choat enrolled as a private in the original Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861, Mustering in on June 17, 1861 in Fannin County, Texas.  On the Corrected State Muster Roll, the first name is shown as Ephraim.  He mustered out of the State Service and into the Confederate Young’s Texas Cavalry on October 2, 1861.

   Choat was present at the time of the 1861 Confederate roll.  No further records.

Wright Chumley Enlisted in 11th Texas Cavalry, CSA, on March 1, 1862 at Horsehead, Arkansas by Lieutenant Colonel Diamond.  Listed as absent, sick in Arkansas through Muster Roll dated April 30, 1863.  No further records.

James Clark  Enrolled as a private in the original Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861, Mustering in on June 17, 1861 in Fannin County, Texas. He mustered out of the State Service and into the Confederate Young’s Texas Cavalry on October 2, 1861.

   His horse died, sick, on December 18, 1861.  Clark served throughout the war.  Name appears on a List of men paroled at Macon, Mississippi on May 24, 1865.

James E. Cobb Recruited into Texas State Cavalry Service on August 28, 1861 along with 31 others for replacement of the 44 privates who were discharged on that date.  He mustered out of State Service and into the Confederate Cavalry on October 2, 1861 at Camp Reeves, Grayson County, Texas.

   Private Cobb is shown as present, on duty, for all Confederate muster rolls of the 11th Texas Cavalry.

T. H. Colman  Recruited into Texas State Cavalry Service on August 28, 1861 along with 31 others for replacement of the 44 privates who were discharged on that date.  He mustered out of State Service and into the Confederate Cavalry on October 2, 1861 at Camp Reeves, Grayson County, Texas.  His last name is shown as Coleman on the last State Muster Roll.

   Private Colman is listed as present, on duty, for all Confederate muster rolls for the 11th Texas Cavalry..

Compton Enrolled as a private in the original Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861, Mustering in on June 17, 1861 in Fannin County, Texas.  Shown first on the Corrected State Muster Roll. He was Discharged from the State Service, along with 43 other privates in this Company, on August 28, 1861.

H. M. Daugherty Enrolled as a private in the original Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861, Mustering in on June 17, 1861 in Fannin County, Texas. He was Discharged from the State Service, along with 43 other privates in this Company, on August 28, 1861.

Jason Daugherty Enrolled as a private in the original Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861, Mustering in on June 17, 1861 in Fannin County, Texas. He was Discharged from the State Service, along with 43 other privates in this Company, on August 28, 1861.

B. F. Dearing  Enlisted in 11th Texas Cavalry, CSA, on February 1, 1862 at Honey Grove, Fannin County, Texas by a Captain Chilton.  Deserted about September 8, 1862. 

Captured by Federals on September 17, 1862 in Kentucky and sent to Camp Chase, Ohio via Cincinatti.  Age at time of capture was given as 33 years.  Transferred to Cairo, Illinois for exchange on September 29, 1862.  Sent to Vicksburg for exchange on the steamer Emerald on November 1, 1862.  No further record.

William D. Dobbs Enrolled as a private in the original Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861, Mustering in on June 17, 1861 in Fannin County, Texas. He was Discharged from the State Service, along with 43 other privates in this Company, on August 28, 1861.

John W. Dowlen Enrolled as a private in the original Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861, mustering in on June 17, 1861 in Fannin County, Texas.  Name shown as John Doolin on the first State Muster Roll.  Shown on the Corrected and final State Muster Rolls as J. W. Dowlen.  He was Discharged from the State Service, along with 43 other privates in this Company, on August 28, 1861.

Joseph A. Dowlen Enrolled as a private in the original Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861, mustering in on June 17, 1861 in Fannin County, Texas. Last name shown as Doolin on the first State Muster Roll.  He mustered out of the State Service and into the Confederate Young’s Texas Cavalry on October 2, 1861.  The name given on the final State Muster Roll is J. A. Dowlin.

   Absent with leave for the 1861 Confederate Muster Roll.  Remarked as: "Died in September of 1862" on the 1862 Muster Roll. 

M. J. B. Earley Enrolled as a private in the original Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861, mustering in on June 17, 1861 in Fannin County, Texas.  Last name shown as Early on the Corrected State Muster Roll.  Private Earley was Discharged from the State Service, along with 43 other privates in this Company, on August 28, 1861.

S. Y. Early  Enrolled as a private in the original Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861, mustering in on June 17, 1861 in Fannin County, Texas.  Last name spelled Earley on the first and ending State Muster Rolls.  He mustered out of the State Service and into the Confederate Young’s Texas Cavalry on October 2, 1861.

   Private Early was reported present and sick on the 1861 Confederate Muster Roll.  Files say "See 2 210.15 for information relative to the above named soldier."  Leave granted April 19, 1862 by S.O. No. 28-5, Department of Trans-Mississippi, Van Dorn.  A Reference card reads: "See Manuscript 2031, sick", dated May 13, 1862.  Discharged and paid disability is noted on the 1862 Muster Roll.

Willis Escue  Enrolled as a private in the original Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861, mustering in on June 17, 1861 in Fannin County, Texas.  Name shown as Willias Escone on the Corrected State Muster Roll. The final State Muster Roll shows him as Willias Escue.  He was Discharged from the State Service, along with 43 other privates in this Company, on August 28, 1861.

Thomas F. Evans Enrolled as a private in the original Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861, mustering in on June 17, 1861 in Fannin County, Texas. He mustered out of the State Service and into the Confederate Young’s Texas Cavalry on October 2, 1861.

   In Confederate records, the name also listed as K. T. Givvins.  Present, sick, on extra duty for the Quartermaster Department during the time of the 1861 Confederate Muster Roll.  Present and in arrest for the 1862 Muster Roll.  Absent without leave for the April 30, 1863 Muster Roll.  Present for the December 31, 1863 Muster Roll.  Noted as captured January 27, 1864 on the final Muster Roll. 

Federal records state that Evans was captured on April 23, 1863 at Rock Island, Tennessee and paroled on April 26, 1863 at Murfreesboro.  The parole is signed by Evans, a soldier of the "so-called Confederate States Army."  He was sent to Nashville on the next day and forwarded to Louisville on May 1, 1863.  Sent to Baltimore, Maryland on May 7, 1863 and again paroled there at Fort McHenry, Maryland on May 10, 1863.  Evans was then sent to City Point, Virginia for exchange. 

The second capture, according to Federal Records was on January 27, 1864 at Sevierville, Tennessee.  Private Evans was again sent to Louisville, via Nashville, for exchange.  Later sent to Rock Island Barracks, Illinois and received there on February 18, 1864.  Took oath in Rock Island Barracks on June 18, 1865.  File contains two paroles, dated June 18, 1865, on which day he was released.  Residence was Honey Grove, Fannin County, Texas.  He is shown as 20 years old at the time of his release.

George L. Fox  Enrolled as a private in the original Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861, mustering in on June 17, 1861 in Fannin County, Texas. He was Discharged from the State Service, along with 43 other privates in this Company, on August 28, 1861.

John W. Fuller  Enrolled as a private in the original Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861, mustering in on June 17, 1861 in Fannin County, Texas.  A name looking like T. _ Fuller is on the Corrected State Muster Roll.  Private J. W. Fuller was Discharged from the State Service, along with 43 other privates in this Company, on August 28, 1861.  He is assumed to be this soldier.

S. Y. Fuller  Enrolled as a private in the original Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861, mustering in on June 17, 1861 in Fannin County, Texas. A name looking like J. W. Fuller is on the Corrected State Muster Roll. Private F. Y. Fuller was Discharged from the State Service, along with 43 other privates in this Company, on August 28, 1861.  He is assumed to be the same man.

James Garnett  Recruited into Texas State Cavalry Service on August 28, 1861 along with 31 others for replacement of the 44 privates who were discharged on that date.  He mustered out of State Service and into the Confederate Cavalry on October 2, 1861 at Camp Reeves, Grayson County, Texas.

   Garnett was present but sick for the 1861 Confederate Muster Roll.  Remarks on the 1862 Muster Roll state that he was killed in the battle at Richmond, Kentucky on August 30, 1862.  Confusingly, the name J. Garnet appeared on a Register of payments to discharged soldiers, showing the soldier discharged and paid on April 15, 1862.  These may be two different soldiers with limited records filed together and there are other possible explanations which will be left up to the reader.  For the Muster Roll troop counts, Garnett and Garnet are assumed to be the same soldier.

George A. Gilmer Recruited into Texas State Cavalry Service on August 28, 1861 along with 31 others for replacement of the 44 privates who were discharged on that date.  He mustered out of State Service and into the Confederate Cavalry on October 2, 1861 at Camp Reeves, Grayson County, Texas.  Last name written as Gilmore on the last State Muster Roll.

Thomas S. Gilmer Enrolled as a private in the original Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861, mustering in on June 17, 1861 in Fannin County, Texas.  The last name is shown as Gilmore on the Corrected State Muster Roll and final State Muster Roll.  He mustered out of the State Service and into the Confederate Young’s Texas Cavalry on October 2, 1861.

   He was present and sick for the 1861 Confederate Muster Roll.  No other records on file.

W. C. Green  Enrolled as a private in the original Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861, mustering in on June 17, 1861 in Fannin County, Texas. He was Discharged from the State Service, along with 43 other privates in this Company, on August 28, 1861.

F. M. Gwaltney Recruited into Texas State Cavalry Service on August 28, 1861 along with 31 others for replacement of the 44 privates who were discharged on that date.  He mustered out of State Service and into the Confederate Cavalry on October 2, 1861 at Camp Reeves, Grayson County, Texas.

   Private Gwaltney was present for all Confederate Muster Rolls.  On detached duty during the 1862 and April 30, 1863 Muster Rolls.  Files contain a Reference Card with inscriptions: "See Manuscript 2031, sick", dated May 13, 1863.  Was Currier for Colonel Harrison (Brigade Commander) on last two muster rolls.  Private F. M. Gwaltney was paroled at Macon, Mississippi on May 24, 1865.

George W. Gwaltney Enrolled as a private in the original Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861, mustering in on June 17, 1861 in Fannin County, Texas. He mustered out of the State Service and into the Confederate Young’s Texas Cavalry on October 2, 1861.

   He was present and on duty for all Confederate muster rolls.  Private Gwaltney was on detached duty during the 1862 Muster Roll.

J. C. Hale  Recruited into Texas State Cavalry Service on August 28, 1861 along with 31 others for replacement of the 44 privates who were discharged on that date.  He mustered out of State Service and into the Confederate Cavalry on October 2, 1861 at Camp Reeves, Grayson County, Texas.

   Hale was present and sick for the 1861 Confederate Muster Roll.  Absent and sick for the 1862 Muster Roll.  Present for the 1863 Muster Rolls.  However, he was a patient at Bell Hospital in Rome, Georgia on November 1, 1863.  He received clothing and pay at the Hospital on November 20, 1863.  The Surgeon stated that Private J. C. Hale had been unable to perform his duties for 60 days as of that time.  The final Muster Roll remarks state that he deserted on January 14, 1864 and was dropped from the rolls on February 4, 1864 by order of General W. T. Martin. 

As a POW he was paroled on September 2, 1865 at San Antonio, Texas.  Residence was Comal County, near San Antonio, Texas.

A. J. Harrison  Recruited into Texas State Cavalry Service on August 28, 1861 along with 31 others for replacement of the 44 privates who were discharged on that date.  He mustered out of State Service and into the Confederate Cavalry on October 2, 1861 at Camp Reeves, Grayson County, Texas. 

Was absent, sick, for 1862 Muster Roll.  Present for the April 30, 1863 Muster Roll.  No more Muster Roll listings are on record.  Received $48 pay on February 9th, $38.40 pay on October 5th and $24 pay on November 9th of 1863.  Received clothing on October 29th and November 12th of 1863 at Atlanta, Georgia from Major G. R. Fairbanks, Quartermaster, C.S.A.  Also received clothing on November 23, 1863 and November 11, 1864 at unlisted locations.  Name appears on a roll of unattached men, C.S.A. surrendered at Citronelle, Alabama on May 4, 1865 and paroled at Jackson, Mississippi on May 19, 1865.  Files contain a Statement of Service Reference Slip from H. P. McCain, Adjutant General, to the Chairman of the Oklahoma Board of Pension Commissioners dated September 15, 1915.

Aaron Hart  Enrolled as a private in the original Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861, mustering in on June 17, 1861 in Fannin County, Texas. He mustered out of the State Service and into the Confederate Young’s Texas Cavalry on October 2, 1861.

   In Confederate States service, Hart died on April 16, 1862 in Arkansas.

Alfred Hart  Enrolled as a private in the original Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861, mustering in on June 17, 1861 in Fannin County, Texas. He mustered out of the State Service and into the Confederate Young’s Texas Cavalry on October 2, 1861.  Hart’s first name is shown as Alford on the final State Muster Roll.

   In Confederate Service, Private Hart was wounded on December 31, 1862 in the battle of Murfreesboro.  He is shown as wounded and absent on the 1862 Muster Roll.  No further records on file.

Hiram Hawley  Enrolled as a private in the original Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861, mustering in on June 17, 1861 in Fannin County, Texas. He mustered out of the State Service and into the Confederate Young’s Texas Cavalry on October 2, 1861.

   Private Hawley was absent, on parole, for the 1862 Confederate Muster Roll.  May have been captured in Kentucky, but there are no records to substantiate it.  The April 30, 1863 Muster Roll remarks read: "Deserted by not joining his Command when ordered."  No further records.

Thomas Hawley Enrolled as a private in the original Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861, mustering in on June 17, 1861 in Fannin County, Texas. He mustered out of the State Service and into the Confederate Young’s Texas Cavalry on October 2, 1861

   Hawley was present for all Confederate muster rolls.  Wounded on December 31, 1862 during the battle near Murfreesboro.  He was paroled near Chesterville, South Carolina on May 5, 1865 in accordance with General J. E. Johnston's and Major General W. T. Sherman's Military Convention of April 26, 1865.  Gave residence as Fannin County, Texas.

J. K. P. Hindman Enrolled as a private in the original Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861, mustering in on June 17, 1861 in Fannin County, Texas.  He was Discharged from the State Service, along with 43 other privates in this Company, on August 28, 1861.

   Hindman enlisted in the 11th Texas Cavalry on February 1, 1862 at Honey Grove, Fannin County, Texas by Captain Nicholson.  He was later wounded and left in Richmond, Kentucky. 

Private Hindman was captured by federal troops on November 27, 1862 at Richmond, Kentucky.   He was 17 years of age at the time of his capture.  Sent to Vicksburg and exchanged on the steamboat City of Madison on December 5, 1862.  Present with Command prior to and for the April 30, 1863 Muster Roll.  On detached service with Captain White's Battery, Horse Artillery for the last two muster rolls.

F. M. Holt  Enrolled as a private in the original Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861, mustering in on June 17, 1861 in Fannin County, Texas.  Shown first on the Corrected State Muster Roll.  He was Discharged from the State Service, along with 43 other privates in this Company, on August 28, 1861.

W. H. Hulsey  Enrolled as a private in the original Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861, mustering in on June 17, 1861 in Fannin County, Texas. He mustered out of the State Service on October 2, 1861.  No Confederate Records were found for private Hulsey in this unit.

Claborn Isham  Recruited into Texas State Cavalry Service on August 28, 1861 along with 31 others for replacement of the 44 privates who were discharged on that date.  He mustered out of State Service and into the Confederate Cavalry on October 2, 1861 at Camp Reeves, Grayson County, Texas.  First name spelled Claiborn on the final State Muster Roll.

   Was present and sick for the 1861 Confederate Muster Roll.  No further records.

James Isham  Enlisted in CSA on May 1, 1862 at Horsehead, Arkansas by Colonel Diamond.  Discharged for overage (40 years old) on November 21, 1862 - noted on the 1862 Muster Roll.

William G. Johnston Enrolled in the original Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861, mustering in on June 17, 1861 in Fannin County, Texas.  His last name is shown as Johnson on the first Texas State Roll.  He mustered out of the State Service and into the Confederate Young’s Texas Cavalry on October 2, 1861.

   He was present and sick for the 1861 Confederate Muster Roll.  He is shown as “wounded and absent” for the 1862 Muster Roll.  However, his name does not appear on the casualty list for the battle of Murfreesboro.  Johnston was present for duty on the remaining muster rolls.

Nathan Jones  Enrolled in the original Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861, mustering in on June 17, 1861 in Fannin County, Texas.  He was Discharged from the State Service, along with 43 other privates in this Company, on August 28, 1861.

John J. Kirk  Enrolled as a private in the original Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861, mustering in on June 17, 1861 in Fannin County, Texas.  Last name shown as Kerk on the first State Muster Roll.  He mustered out of the State Service and into the Confederate Young’s Texas Cavalry on October 2, 1861.

   Deserted from CSA on August 2, 1863 near Rome, Georgia.  Took oath of allegiance at Nashville, Tennessee on May 30, 1864.  Gave residence as Lawrence County, Tennessee.

T. J. Jackson  Enrolled as a private in the original Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861, mustering in on June 17, 1861 in Fannin County, Texas.  He was Discharged from the State Service, along with 43 other privates in this Company, on August 28, 1861.

Albert Jordan  Enrolled as a private in the original Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861, mustering in on June 17, 1861 in Fannin County, Texas.  An Elbert Jourdan  was Discharged from the State Service, along with 43 other privates in this Company, on August 28, 1861.  This is assumed to be the same man.

Stephen Lankford Enrolled as a private in the original Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861, mustering in on June 17, 1861 in Fannin County, Texas. He was Discharged from the State Service, along with 43 other privates in this Company, on August 28, 1861.

Charles T. Latimer Enlisted in 11th Texas Caalry, CSA, on March 1, 1862 by J. J. Diamond at Van Buren, Arkansas.  Wounded at the battle in front of Murfreesboro.  Later captured by enemy troops on January 12, 1864 at Talbert's Station, Tennessee. 

Entered the Rock Island Barracks in Illinois on January 29, 1864.  Sent for exchange to New Orleans on May 3, 1865.  Exchanged on May 23, 1865.

George Leopard Enrolled in the original Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861 with last name shown as Leperd.  Mustered into the Texas State Service on June 17, 1861 in Fannin County, Texas.  Last name shown as Leopard on the Corrected State Muster Roll.  He mustered out of the State Service and into the Confederate Young’s Texas Cavalry on October 2, 1861.

   Was present for duty with typical mustering into the Confederate Army in 1861.  A Remark: "Discharged for disability in 1862." Is on the 1862 11th Texas Cavalry Muster Roll (dated January 14, 1863).  No further records.

J. H. Lidd  The only record is that his name appears on a Muster Roll of Officers and Men Paroled with the Terms of a Military Convention entered into on April 26, 1865, between General Joseph E. Johnston, Commanding the Confederate Army and Major General W.T. Sherman, Commanding the U.S. Army in North Carolina.  He was Paroled at Chesterville, South Carolina on May 5, 1865.  Gave residence as Fannin County, Texas.

J. D. Lile  Enlisted in 11th Texas Cavalry, CSA, on December 5, 1861 in Fayetteville, Arkansas by Captain A. J. Nicholson.  Discharged on May 17, 1862 at Camp Churchill Clark (Mississippi?) for chronic rheumatism.  Certificate of disability indicates he was born in Columbia County, Georgia and was 56 years of age.  The Certificate is signed by 2nd Lieutenant Thomas Shaw, commanding company.

Newton Lile  Enrolled as a private in the original Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861, mustering in on June 17, 1861 in Fannin County, Texas.  The last name is shown as Lisle on the Corrected State Muster Roll and as Lyle on the final State Muster Roll. He mustered out of the State Service and into the Confederate Young’s Texas Cavalry on October 2, 1861.

   On Confedrate records the name is also listed as J.N. Lile, Lile N. Newton and J. N. Lyles (see below).  Present on the 1861 and 1862 Muster Rolls only.  No further records, except mixed with J. N. Lyles.  The author has separated them, since it appears to be two men. 

J. N. Lyles  A Statement of Service slip, dated September 18, 1915 indicates that he transferred from Company "B", 9th (Young's) Texas Infantry on January 23, 1863 by order of General McCown.  Had been wounded at the battle of Murfreesboro on December 31, 1862.  Shown as received with the 11th Texas Cavalry on October 10th and November 11th of 1863.  Re-enlisted with the 9th Texas Infantry on March 20, 1864. 

Surrendered at Meridian, Mississippi on May 4, 1865 according to the terms agreed upon by Lieutenant General R. Taylor and Major General E. R. S. Canby, U.S.A.  Paroled there on May 11, 1865.  Files contain correspondence to the Oklahoma Board of Pension Commissioners in Oklahoma City, dated September 20, 1915.

J. T. Marney  Enrolled as a private in the original Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861, mustering in on June 17, 1861 in Fannin County, Texas.  Middle initial shown as “F.” on the Corrected State Muster Roll. He was Discharged from the State Service, along with 43 other privates in this Company, on August 28, 1861.

   Private Newberry was present for all Confederate musters and until killed on the battle of Chickamauga on September 21, 1863.

R. S. Rawlins  Enlisted on October 14, 1861 at Bonhamn, Grayson County, Texas by W. A. Stanley.  Name first appears on Decmber 31, 1862 to April 30, 1863 Muster Roll.  Went AWOL on December 6, 1863.  Listed as Deserted and dropped from rolls on February 4, 1864 by order of General William T. Martin. 

Federal POW records indicate that he was captured on December 6, 1863 in Union County, Tennessee and sent to military prison at Louisville.  He was discharged from the prison at Louisville and sent to Rock Island Barracks, Illinois on December 27, 1863.  No further records on file.

Harrison Roberson Enrolled as a private in the original Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861, mustering in on June 17, 1861 in Fannin County, Texas.  Is not shown on the Corrected State Muster Roll or any subsequent record.

J.M. (or N.) Roberson Enrolled as a private in the original Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861, mustering in on June 17, 1861 in Fannin County, Texas. A private J. M. Robertson was Discharged from the State Service, along with 43 other privates in this Company, on August 28, 1861.  This is assumed to be the same man.

   Enlisted in 11th Texas Cavalry, CSA, on February 1, 1862 at Honeygrove, Fannin County, Texas by Captain Nicholson.  Absent 150 days from April 30, 1862.  Present for duty in December of 1863 and through the last Muster Roll. On the Confederate records, the last name is also spelled Robeson and Robinson.  No further records.

Louis Shepherd Enrolled as a private in the original Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861, mustering in on June 17, 1861 in Fannin County, Texas.  His first name is recorded as Lewis on the Corrected and final State Muster Rolls. He was Discharged from the State Service, along with 43 other privates in this Company, on August 28, 1861.

J. A. Shook  Enrolled as a private in the original Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861, mustering in on June 17, 1861 in Fannin County, Texas. He mustered out of the State Service and into the Confederate Young’s Texas Cavalry on October 2, 1861.

   His last name also shown as Shanks and Shuck in the Confederate records. Shook was listed as present, sick on the 1861 Confederate Muster Roll.  He was listed as "missing" in the Battle of Murfreesboro on Roll dated January 14, 1863. 

Federal records list him as captured at Stone's River and sent to Camp Douglas, Illinois.  However, there are no more Federal records regarding this capture. 

He is shown as present with the company for the April 30, 1863 Muster Roll.  Then he was absent without leave from December 12, 1863 on the final Muster Roll.  His name was dropped from the rolls February 4, 1864 by order of General W. T. Martin.

C. H. Shoults  Enrolled as a private in the original Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861, mustering in on June 17, 1861 in Fannin County, Texas.  A private C. H. Shults was Discharged from the State Service, along with 43 other privates in this Company, on August 28, 1861.  This is assumed to be that same man.

John W. Smith  Enrolled as a private in the original Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861, mustering in on June 17, 1861 in Fannin County, Texas.  Shown as John Smith on the first State Muster Roll and as J. W. Smith on the Corrected one.  He mustered out of the State Service on October 2, 1861.  No Confederate records found for Smith with this unit.

D. F. Stephens  Enlisted in the 11th Texas Cavalry on February 1, 1862 at Honey Grove, Fannin County, Texas by Captain Nicholson.  Absent, sick, in January of 1863.  Present by April 30, 1863.  On detail as teamster with a Captain Douglas in December of 1863.  Present with Company on final Muster Roll. 

Paroled under General J. E. Johnson's and General W. T. Sherman's terms, at Chesterville, South Carolina on May 5, 1865.  Gave residence as Fannin County, Texas.

H. R. Stephens Enlisted in the 11th Texas Cavalry on February 1, 1862 at Honey Grove, Fannin County, Texas by Captain Nicholson.  Later he was Discharged for disability and last paid on August 31, 1862.

Joseph B. Stephens Enlisted in the 11th Texas Cavalry on February 1, 1862 at Honey Grove, Fannin County, Texas by Captain Nicholson.  Present until "Prisoner of War since Jan. 12, 1864" noted on Final Muster Roll. 

Federal records state the he was captured on January 12th and 14th of 1864 at Talbert's Station, Tennessee.  Sent to Rock Island Barracks in Illinois via confinements at Knoxville, Chatanooga, Nashville and Louisville.  Arrived at Rock Island Barracks around January 29, 1864.  Died there of "Apoplexy" on August 9, 1864.  Buried southeast of prison in grave number 1397.

Thomas E. Stephens Enrolled as a private in the original Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861, mustering in on June 17, 1861 in Fannin County, Texas. He was Discharged from the State Service, along with 43 other privates in this Company, on August 28, 1861.

William E. Stephens Enlisted either on October 2, 1861 at Camp Reeves, Grayson County, Texas or as Joseph B. Stephens, above.  Both enlistments are shown on records.  The 1862 enlistment was assumed for Muster Roll troop counts. 

Remarks on the April 30, 1863 Muster Roll read: "Now with Captain Gorden's Scout Detachments, Transferred."  The Muster Roll ending December 31, 1863 has remarks stating: "Prisoner of War since 20 July 1863." 

Federal records state that Stephens was captured at Logan County, Kentucky with Company "G", Texas Scouts.  He was received at Camp Douglas, Illinois in August of 1863.  No further records.

C. M. Taylor  Enrolled as a private in the original Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861, mustering in on June 17, 1861 in Fannin County, Texas. He was Discharged from the State Service, along with 43 other privates in this Company, on August 28, 1861.

John Teener  Last name also listed as Teenor.  Enlisted on October 9, 1861 at Clarksville, Red River County, Texas by Captain Smith Ragsdale (of Co. "B", 9th Texas Infantry).  There are no 1861 or 1862 Muster Rolls on file.  He was present for the April 30, 1863 Muster Roll.  Absent at Rome Hospital in Georgia on December 31, 1863 Muster Roll.  Reported as detailed with Captain D. D. Porter, A.Q.M. on final Muster Roll.

Henry Thomas  Enrolled as a private in the original Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861, mustering in on June 17, 1861 in Fannin County, Texas. He mustered out of the State Service and into the Confederate Young’s Texas Cavalry on October 2, 1861.

   Thomas was present and sick for the 1861 Confederate Muster Roll.  No further records.

James Thomas  Enrolled as a private in the original Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861, mustering in on June 17, 1861 in Fannin County, Texas. He mustered out of the State Service and into the Confederate Young’s Texas Cavalry on October 2, 1861.

   Private Thomas was absent with leave for the 1861 Confederate Muster Roll.  Present, on Provost Guard, in 1862.  Present for regular duty by April of 1863.  Absent at Hospital in Rome, Georgia on last two muster rolls.  Admitted to "Receiving" or "Wayside Hospital" or General Hospital No. 9 at Richmond, Virginia on March 3, 1865.  Hospital Register dated March 5, 1865.

W. W. Tillman  Enrolled as a private in the original Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861, mustering in on June 17, 1861 in Fannin County, Texas.  Not shown on the first State Muster Roll, but is listed on the Corrected one.  He mustered out of the State Service and into the Confederate Young’s Texas Cavalry on October 2, 1861.

   In Confederate records, his last name also listed as Tillmon.  Present on extra duty with Quartermaster Department in 1861.  Present for Cavalry duty on the 1862 and 1863 Muster Rolls.  Present on extra duty as Regimental Teamster (Field & Staff) on final muster moll.

S. C. Towell  Recruited into Texas State Cavalry Service on August 28, 1861 along with 31 others for replacement of the 44 privates who were discharged on that date.  He mustered out of State Service and into the Confederate Cavalry on October 2, 1861 at Camp Reeves, Grayson County, Texas.

   Towell was present for regular duty, until, "Detached driving beeves for Brigade" on Muster Roll ending December 31, 1863.  He was present, "Detailed Brig. beef driver" on final Muster Roll.

L. M. Trout  Enrolled as a private in the original Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861, mustering in on June 17, 1861 in Fannin County, Texas. He mustered out of the State Service on October 2, 1861.  No Confederate records were found for L. M. Trout with this unit.

W. S. Wagoner Enrolled as a private in the original Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861, mustering in on June 17, 1861 in Fannin County, Texas. He mustered out of the State Service and into the Confederate Young’s Texas Cavalry on October 2, 1861.  His last name is given as Waggoner on the final State Muster Roll.

   He was present and sick for the 1861 Confederate Muster Roll.  No further records.

John H. Wall  Enrolled as a private in the original Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861, mustering in on June 17, 1861 in Fannin County, Texas. He mustered out of the State Service and into the Confederate Young’s Texas Cavalry on October 2, 1861.

   Wall was reported as present, sick, on the 1861 Confederate Muster Roll.  Present for duty on 1862 through April 30, 1863 Muster Rolls.  Absent in Rome (Georgia) Hospital on Muster Roll of December 31, 1863.  Received forage for his horse at hospital on November 5, 1863.  The Assistant Surgeon, E. M. Vasser, certified he was a patient in the hospital on the forage requisition, stating that he was with Co. "K", 8th Texas Cavalry.  Detailed with Captain D. D. Porter, A.Q.M. on final Muster Roll.

T. M. Wall  Enrolled as a private in the original Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861, mustering in on June 17, 1861 in Fannin County, Texas.  Shown first on the Corrected State Muster Roll.  He was Discharged from the State Service, along with 43 other privates in this Company, on August 28, 1861.

G. W. Wallace  Enrolled as a private in the original Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861, mustering in on June 17, 1861 in Fannin County, Texas. He was Discharged from the State Service, along with 43 other privates in this Company, on August 28, 1861.

J. C. Wallace  Enlisted in 11th Texas Cavalry, Confederate, on February 1, 1862 at Honey Grove, Fannin County, Texas by Captain Nicholson.  Discharged for underage (17) by Captain Shaw on December 5, 1862 in Manchester, Coffee County, Tennessee.  He was a farmer, born in Fayette County, Missouri.

James Ward  Enlisted in 11th Texas Cavalry, Confederate, February 1, 1862 at Honey Grove, Fannin County, Texas by Captain Nicholson.  Discharged for disability later in 1862.  No date or further records given.

Darling Weathersby Recruited into Texas State Cavalry Service on August 28, 1861 along with 31 others for replacement of the 44 privates who were discharged on that date.  He mustered out of State Service and into the Confederate Cavalry on October 2, 1861 at Camp Reeves, Grayson County, Texas. 

   On Confederate records, the last name is also written as Weathersly.  He was present until reported as "Deserted 2 Aug., 1863 near Rome, Georgia" on the December 31, 1863 Muster Roll.  No further records.

Edward Welch  Recruited into Texas State Cavalry Service on August 28, 1861 along with 31 others for replacement of the 44 privates who were discharged on that date.  He mustered out of State Service and into the Confederate Cavalry on October 2, 1861 at Camp Reeves, Grayson County, Texas.

   Private Welch was Discharged from the CSA for underage on December 18, 1862 at Readyville, Tennessee.  The Certificate of Discharge states that he was born in the city of Troy (? hard to read), New York, age 17 and a farmer.  Welch re-enlisted on August 10, 1863 at Jackson, Mississippi.  Remarks on the December 31, 1863 Muster Roll state that he was a "Paroled prisoner and absent."  Remarks on the final Muster Roll state that he was absent, "Paroled Prisoner + with Captain Porter." 

Federal records say he was captured February 17, 1864 at either Huntsville or Bainbridge, Alabama.  Sent to Fort Delaware, Delaware via Nashville and Louisville.  Received at Fort Delaware on March 4, 1864.  No further records.

J. A. Wells  Enrolled as a private in the original Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861, mustering in on June 17, 1861 in Fannin County, Texas. He was Discharged from the State Service, along with 43 other privates in this Company, on August 28, 1861.

   Enlisted in the 11th Texas Cavalry on February 1, 1862 at Honey Grove, Fannin County, Texas by Captain Nicholson.  Present until sick and absent at Atlanta, noted on April 30, 1863 Muster Roll.  On Muster Roll ending December 31, 1863, remarks state that he was AWOL 140 days since last paid - April 30, 1863.  Present on final Muster Roll.

James D. White Enrolled as a private in the original Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861, mustering in on June 17, 1861 in Fannin County, Texas.  Middle initial given on the Corrected State Muster Roll.  He was Discharged from the State Service, along with 43 other privates in this Company, on August 28, 1861.

James Whitsett Recruited into Texas State Cavalry Service on August 28, 1861 along with 31 others for replacement of the 44 privates who were discharged on that date.  He mustered out of State Service and into the Confederate Cavalry on October 2, 1861 at Camp Reeves, Grayson County, Texas.  He is shown to have died in Confederate Service on January 1, 1862.

J. C. Wicher  Recruited into Texas State Cavalry Service on August 28, 1861 along with 31 others for replacement of the 44 privates who were discharged on that date.  He mustered out of State Service and into the Confederate States Army, Young’s Texas Cavalry on October 2, 1861 at Camp Reeves, Grayson County, Texas.  Last name spelled as Witcher on the last State Muster Roll.

   He was present but sick, for the 1861 Confederate Muster Roll.  Attached to Arsenal Hospital, Little Rock, Arkansas as Wardmaster from May 1st to June 1st of 1862.  Present with the company on December 31, 1863 Muster Roll.  Absent, Hospital Nurse, on final Muster Roll.  Paid $96.00 by C. S. Wallach on March 31, 1864.  No further records.

W. H. Williams Enrolled as a private in the original Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861, mustering in on June 17, 1861 in Fannin County, Texas. He mustered out of the State Service and into the Confederate Young’s Texas Cavalry on October 2, 1861.

   Williams was present for the 1861 Confederate Muster Roll.  No further records on file.

C. H. Wilson  Enrolled as a private in the original Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861, mustering in on June 17, 1861 in Fannin County, Texas. He was Discharged from the State Service, along with 43 other privates in this Company, on August 28, 1861.

C. L. Wood(s)  Enrolled as a private in the original Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861, mustering in on June 17, 1861 in Fannin County, Texas. He mustered out of the State Service and into the Confederate Young’s Texas Cavalry on October 2, 1861.

   Woods was recorded as absent with leave on the 1861 Confederate Muster Roll.  Present for duty for all remaining muster rolls.  Name appears on a Register at C.S.A. General Hospital No. 11 at Charlotte, North Carolina, admitted March 4, 1865 with "Plurydima".  Returned to duty March 13, 1865.

A. S. Woods  Enrolled as a private in the original Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861, mustering in on June 17, 1861 in Fannin County, Texas. He was Discharged from the State Service, along with 43 other privates in this Company, on August 28, 1861.

John T. Woods Enlisted in 11th Texas Cavalry, CSA, on February 1, 1862 at Honey Grove, Fannin County, Texas by Captain Nicholson.  Present for duty on all following muster rolls.

S. A. Woods  Enlisted with the 11th Texas Cavalry, CSA, on February 1, 1862 at Honey Grove, Fannin County, Texas by Captain Nicholson.  Present until left sick at Farmington, Tennessee on October 10, 1863. 

Federal records state that private Woods was captured near Chattanooga on October 13, 1863.  Sent to Military Prisons at Louisville and Camp Morton, Indiana.  Was at Camp Morton from November 5, 1863 to March 19, 1864.  Sent to Fort Delaware, Delaware and received there on March 22, 1865.  Released on June 9, 1865 after taking oath.  Gave residence as Fannin County, Texas.

Isaac M. Yoakum Enrolled as a private in the original Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861, mustering in on June 17, 1861 in Fannin County, Texas. He mustered out of the State Service on October 2, 1861.  No Confederate records were found for Yoakum with this unit.
