Adams mustered into the Confederate States Service with this Company on October 2, 1861 at Camp Reeves, in Grayson County, Texas.  Major George W. Chilton of the 3rd Texas Cavalry was the Mustering Officer.  He is shown present until remarks on the April 30, 1863 Muster Roll state that he was discharged and final statements give since the last muster.  Another record states that he was discharged May 12, 1863.

S. G. Allen  Volunteered for the Texas State Infantry company on June 12, 1861 at the town of Greenville in Hunt County, Texas.  He was a private in that organization.  He is shown to be 32 years of age on the third State Muster Roll.  On October 2, 1861 he refused to enroll in the CSA and was discharged.

James Boring  Entered the State Cavalry Service on August 24, 1861.  He is shown to be 21 years of age on the third State Muster Roll. The last two State Muster Rolls show that private Boring entered the State Service on September 1, 1861.

   Boring mustered into the Confederate States Service with this Company on October 2, 1861 at Camp Reeves, in Grayson County, Texas.  Major George W. Chilton of the 3rd Texas Cavalry was the Mustering Officer.  He was present for all Confederate muster rolls.  Reported sick on the February 20, 1863 Muster Roll.  No further records.

Joseph Bussey  Enlisted on July 1, 1862 in Paris, Lamar County, Texas by George Diamond (J. J. Diamond's brother).  Reported missing at the Battle of Murfreesboro.  Federal reports indicate that he was captured and sent to Camp Douglas, Illinois, where he died on February 11, 1863.

T. M. Cain  Enlisted January 31, 1862 in Hunt County, Texas by Captain C. H. Featherston.  He was present for muster rolls after that time until reported as AWOL on final Muster Roll.  No further records.

Green Chafin  Volunteered for the Texas State Infantry company on June 12, 1861 at the town of Greenville in Hunt County, Texas.  He was a private in that organization. He is shown to be 26 years of age on the third State Muster Roll. On October 2, 1861 he refused to enroll in the CSA and was discharged.

Benjamin Clark  Substituted for private John Fanning in Texas State Service on September 1, 1861. He is shown to be 31 years of age on the third State Muster Roll.

   Clark mustered into the Confederate States Service with this Company on October 2, 1861 at Camp Reeves, in Grayson County, Texas.  Major George W. Chilton of the 3rd Texas Cavalry was the Mustering Officer.  He was wounded in leg in the Battle of Chustenahlah, Creek Nation on December 26, 1861.  Present for the 1861 Muster Roll.  No further records.

Alexander Coker  The 3rd State Muster Roll for this Company shows Coker was recruited into Texas State Cavalry Service on September 7, 1861.  He is shown as 18 years old.  The last two State Muster Rolls show that Coker entered the State Service on September 1, 1861.

   Coker mustered into the Confederate States Service with this Company on October 2, 1861 at Camp Reeves, in Grayson County, Texas.  Major George W. Chilton of the 3rd Texas Cavalry was the Mustering Officer.  He was discharged from the CSA on December 18, 1862 due to underage (16 years old) after serving over 14 months.  The means he was, at most, 15 years old upon enlisting.  Private Coker was born in Cass County, Georgia.  His occupation is given as Farmer.

Charles E. Cole  Volunteered for the Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861 at the town of Greenville in Hunt County, Texas.  He was a private in that organization. Cole was discharge on October 2, 1861 and refused to enroll in the CSA with this Company.  James Hunt substituted for him. 

J. E. Cole  The 3rd State Muster Roll shows Cole substituted in the State Cavalry Service in place of John Odell on September 7, 1861.  However, the last two State Muster Rolls show that Cole entered the State Service on September 1, 1861.

   Cole mustered into the Confederate States Service with this Company on October 2, 1861 at Camp Reeves, in Grayson County, Texas.  Major George W. Chilton of the 3rd Texas Cavalry was the Mustering Officer.  He was present in CSA unit through the time of the final Muster Roll.  Cole received pay for use and risk of horse, 112 days, on the December 31, 1863 Muster Roll.  No further records.

William Cook  Volunteered for the Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861 at the town of Greenville in Hunt County, Texas.  He was a private in that organization.  On August 7, 1861 John Morgan was substituted in his stead.  The last two State Muster Rolls show the substitute started on September 1, 1861.

J. D. W. Cooper  Name first appears on the third Texas State Muster Roll as a private.  No enlistment information is given.  He is shown as 28 years of age.  The 4th State Muster Roll shows he substituted for private A. J. Fanning on September 1, 1861.

George P. Cosby  Volunteered for the Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861 at the town of Greenville in Hunt County, Texas.  He was a private in that organization.  He is shown to be 22 years of age on the third State Muster Roll.  Cosby is shown present for all State Muster Rolls.

J. A. Cosby  Volunteered for the Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861 at the town of Greenville in Hunt County, Texas.  He was a private in that organization. He is shown to be 21 years of age on the third State Muster Roll.  Cosby is shown present for all State Muster Rolls.

   Cosby mustered into the Confederate States Service with this Company on October 2, 1861 at Camp Reeves, in Grayson County, Texas.  Major George W. Chilton of the 3rd Texas Cavalry was the Mustering Officer.  In Confederate Service, Cosby was discharged June 24, 1862 for complications due to pneumonia ("Pluritic Adhesion of the left Lung") and Chronic Diarrhea.  Born in Jefferson County, Alabama and was 21 years old at the time of his discharge.  Occupation given on Certificate of discharge is: Farmer.

J. T. Cox  Enlisted January 31, 1862 in Hunt County, Texas by C. H. Featherston.  Discharged December 20, 1862.  No Certificate on record.

A. J. Dearman  Enlisted in 11th Texas on January 31, 1862 at Camp Lubbock, Arkansas by W. C. Young.  He was left sick in Kentucky in the Fall of 1862.  Listed as absent, Deserted October 10, 1862, on the 1862 Muster Roll.  No further records.

Huston Diars  Volunteered for the Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861 at the town of Greenville in Hunt County, Texas.  He was a private in that organization.  This name appears only on the first two State Muster Rolls.

M. N. (V.) Davis  Name first appears as M . N. Dias on the 3rd State Muster Roll, showing that  private E. C. Fry substituted in his place on September 1, 1861.  The last two State Muster Rolls show that E. C. Fry substituted for M. V. Davis.

James E. Dunn  Volunteered for the Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861 at the town of Greenville in Hunt County, Texas.  He was a private in that organization. He is shown to be 20 years of age on the third State Muster Roll.  Dunn is shown as present for all the State Muster Rolls for this Company.

   Private Dunn enrolled into the Confederate States Service with this Company on October 2, 1861 at Camp Reeves, in Grayson County, Texas.  Major George W. Chilton of the 3rd Texas Cavalry was the Mustering Officer.  He is reported, on the 1862 Confederate Muster Roll, as absent, left sick in Prairie County, Arkansas in May of 1862.  No further records on file.

Thomas C. Erwin  Volunteered for the Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861 at the town of Greenville in Hunt County, Texas.  He was a private in that organization.  Name does not appear after the 4th State Muster Roll.

A. J. Fanning  Volunteered for the Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861 at the town of Greenville in Hunt County, Texas.  He was a private in that organization.  On September 1, 1861, J. D. W. Cooper substituted in his place.

Later, private Finley was captured at Richmond, Kentucky - no date given.  He was exchanged near Vicksburg on board the steamer Metropolitan on December 4, 1862.  Exchange supervised by Major N. G. Watts, C.S.A. and Captain W. W. Bickford, U.S.A.  Discharged December 22, 1862 with Certificate stating that he was unfit for duty due to gunshot wound received in the battle of Richmond, Kentucky on August 30, 1862.  He was born in Cass County, Georgia, aged "21 years" and a Farmer prior to enlistment.  Certificate of Discharge signed by 2nd Lieutenant Edward Weedon, Commanding Company.

John L. Fox  Volunteered for the Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861 at the town of Greenville in Hunt County, Texas.  He was a private in that organization.  He is shown to be 21 years of age on the third State Muster Roll.  Substituted John Moore in his stead on October 1, 1861.

M. J. Fox  Volunteered for the Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861 at the town of Greenville in Hunt County, Texas.  He was a private in that organization. He is shown to be 21 years of age on the third State Muster Roll.  Was present for all State Muster Rolls.

   Fox mustered into the Confederate States Service with this Company on October 2, 1861 at Camp Reeves, in Grayson County, Texas.  Major George W. Chilton of the 3rd Texas Cavalry was the Mustering Officer.  In CSA Fox used a public horse on the remounting of the regiment in early 1863.  He was present for duty through the time of the final Confederate muster roll.  File contains a Notice of Admission, sent to the Company Captain, of what appears to be "3rd Ga." Hospital on August 14, 1864 by Surgeon J. C. Habersham.  No further records.

E. C. Fry   Substituted in place of  Private M. N. (or V.) Davis on September 1, 1861 in the State Cavalry.  He is shown to be 17 years of age on the third State Muster Roll.  He was present in the State Service until the Company was discharged.

M. T. Fry  Volunteered for the Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861 at the town of Greenville in Hunt County, Texas.  He was a private in that organization. He is shown to be 20 years of age on the third State Muster Roll.  Middle initial appears as an “F” on the last two State Muster Rolls.

   Fry mustered into the Confederate States Service with this Company on October 2, 1861 at Camp Reeves, in Grayson County, Texas.  Major George W. Chilton of the 3rd Texas Cavalry was the Mustering Officer.  With the 11th Texas, he is shown absent, sick, near Bridgeport, Alabama on the 1862 Muster Roll.  Present for February 20, 1863 Muster Roll and subsequent muster rolls.  Pay for use and risk of horse is noted on December 31, 1863 Muster Roll.  No further records.

Daniel Garlock  Volunteered for the Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861 at the town of Greenville in Hunt County, Texas.  He was a private in that organization.  Garlock was discharged for inability on July 29, 1861.

Thomas Garth  Only record is a card reading:
Appears on a muster roll of Details in Commissary Department, General Robert H. Anderson's Brigade, Paroled in accordance with the Military Convention entered into on April 26, 1865 between General Joseph E. Johnston and Major General W. T. Sherman.  Paroled at Hillsboro, North Carolina.

The card notes that Garth enlisted October 23, 1862 at Murfreesboro, Tennessee by a Captain Coffee.  Remarks state that he was a Teamster,  from Company H, 11th Texas Cavalry, detailed by order of General "DeWill" (Wheeler?). 

Amos Gibson  Enlisted January 31, 1862 in Hunt County, Texas by C. H. Featherston.  He was absent for the 1862 Muster Roll, detailed as a nurse for the sick in Ann's.  Remarks on the February 20, 1863 Muster Roll show him absent and similarly detailed at an unreadable place since May of 1862.  No further records on file.

J. T. Gillespie  Was recruited into the Texas State Cavalry organization on September 7, 1861, per the 3rd State Muster Roll.  His age was reported as 23 years. The last two State Muster Rolls show that Gillespie entered the State Service on September 1, 1861.

   Gillespie mustered into the Confederate States Service with this Company on October 2, 1861 at Camp Reeves, in Grayson County, Texas.  Major George W. Chilton of the 3rd Texas Cavalry was the Mustering Officer.  He was present for all Confederate muster rolls.  Used Public horse on remounting of Regiment.  Remarks on the December 31, 1863 Muster Roll read: "Pay for use and risk of horse 180 days."  No further records.

Stephen Graves  Volunteered for the Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861 at the town of Greenville in Hunt County, Texas.  He was a private in that organization. He is shown to be 20 years of age on the third State Muster Roll.  Graves was present for all the State Muster Rolls.

   Private Graves mustered into the Confederate States Service with this Company on October 2, 1861 at Camp Reeves, in Grayson County, Texas.  Major George W. Chilton of the 3rd Texas Cavalry was the Mustering Officer.  He was present for the 1861 Confederate Muster Roll and indebted $9.50 to C.S. at the time.  No further records on file.

John A. Grisham  Volunteered for the Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861 at the town of Greenville in Hunt County, Texas.  He was a private in that organization.  Private  J. J. Nellems substituted for him on September 1 or August 7, 1861, depending which Muster Roll you read. The September date is on the last two State Muster Rolls.

William Hambrick Volunteered for the Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861 at the town of Greenville in Hunt County, Texas.  He was a private in that organization.  Private B. F. Neal is shown as a substitute for Hambrick from August 7, 1861.  However, the last two State Muster Rolls show that on October 2, 1861 he refused to enroll in the CSA and was discharged.

 A. A. Hardin  Enlisted with the 11th Texas on January 31, 1862 in Hunt County, Texas by C. H. Featherston.  Deserted from Loundon, Tennessee on December 1, 1862.  No further records.

William T. Harris  Enlisted January 31, 1862 in Hunt County, Texas by C. H. Featherston.  He was present for all subsequent muster rolls.  No further military records on file.  Files contain a Statement of Service Reference Slip sent to the Chairman of the Oklahoma Board of Pension Commissioners in Oklahoma City from H. P. McCain, Adjutant General, dated September 16, 1915.

William L. Hefner Volunteered for the Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861 at the town of Greenville in Hunt County, Texas.  He was a private in that organization.  Entered the Texas State Service on September 1, 1861.  His age is shown as 21 years.  He was present for all State Muster Rolls.

   Hefner mustered into the Confederate States Service with this Company on October 2, 1861 at Camp Reeves, in Grayson County, Texas.  Major George W. Chilton of the 3rd Texas Cavalry was the Mustering Officer.  He was wounded in the battle of "Elk Horn" (Pea Ridge), Arkansas on March 6th of 1862 and furloughed home by the Army Surgeon at Bentonville, Arkansas.  The furlough was in effect for over one year and he never returned to the regiment.

J. C. Hobbs  Volunteered for the Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861 at the town of Greenville in Hunt County, Texas.  He was a private in that organization.  Discharged for inability with a certificate on September 1, 1861.

Overton Hodges  Mustered into the Confederate States Service with this Company on October 2, 1861 at Camp Reeves, in Grayson County, Texas.  Major George W. Chilton of the 3rd Texas Cavalry was the Mustering Officer.  He was present for duty until he was absent for the April 30, 1863 Muster Roll, and remarks read: "Missing, supposed to have been taken prisoner in skirmish Apr. 1863, Private Horse." 

Federal POW records state that he was captured on April 20, 1863 at both Franklin and Stewart's Creek, Tennessee.  Then on April 19, 1863 (there is an error herein) the Federals sent him to Military Prison in Louisville, Kentucky.  Private Hodges was sent from Louisville to City Point, Virginia, for exchange, on May 7, 1863.  He was paroled on May 10, 1863 at Fort McHenry, Baltimore, Maryland. 

Private Hodges was present with this command for the last two muster rolls.  No further military records are on file.  Files contain correspondence regarding his military records from the AGO, dated July 5, 1912.

W. K. Honeyman  The 3rd State Muster Roll show he entered the Texas State Cavalry unit on September 18, 1861.  His age is shown as 20 years on the 3rd State Muster Roll. The last two State Muster Rolls show that Honeyman entered the State Service on September 1, 1861.

   Private Honeyman mustered into the Confederate States Service with this Company on October 2, 1861 at Camp Reeves, in Grayson County, Texas.  Major George W. Chilton of the 3rd Texas Cavalry was the Mustering Officer.  He was present for all Confederate muster rolls until listed as AWOL on final one.

On Federal records, the name W. R. Honeyman appears on a List of Rebel Deserters, released on taking the oath at the office of the Provost Marshall General of East Tennessee on February 29, 1864.

J. T. Hooker  Enlisted January 31, 1862 in Hunt County, Texas by Captain C. H. Featherston.  Was present with the company until detached as Regimental Saddler from July 16, 1863 through at least the time of the last Muster Roll.

W. H. Hooker  Enlisted with the 11th Texas on January 31, 1862 in Hunt County, Texas by Captain C. H. Featherston.  Absent, sick at Hospital, for the 1862 and February 20, 1863 Muster Rolls.  Present for the April 30, 1863 Muster Roll.  Detached as Saddler for Regiment on July 16, 1863 near Rome, Georgia and remained on duty as such at least through the the time of the last Muster Roll.

David G. Hunt  Volunteered for the Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861 at the town of Greenville in Hunt County, Texas.  He was a private in that organization.  His age is shown as 18 years on the third State Muster Roll. On October 2, 1861 he refused to enroll in the CSA and was discharged.

James Hunt  Substituted in place of private Charles E. Cole during the period of Texas State Service.  His age is shown as 20 years on the third State Muster Roll.  This name does not appear on the last two State Muster Rolls for this Company.

Thomas C. Irwin  Name first appears on the third Texas State Muster Roll, with enlistment information.   His age is shown there as 21 years.  Last name shown as Erwin on the 4th State Muster Roll.  Name not shown on last State Muster Roll.

   Irwin mustered into the Confederate States Service with this Company on October 2, 1861 at Camp Reeves, in Grayson County, Texas.  Major George W. Chilton of the 3rd Texas Cavalry was the Mustering Officer.  He was present for all Confederate muster rolls.  Remarks on the Muster Roll for December 31, 1863 indicates that he was in extra duty as a Horse Shoer since August 1, 1863.  Remarks on the final Muster Roll state that he was detailed as a Blacksmith since August 15, 1863. 

Private Irwin was paroled at Vicksburg, Mississippi on June 1, 1865 in conformance with General Orders No. 56, dated May 26, 1865.  Residence was Hunt County, Texas.

Robert T. Jackson  Volunteered for the Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861 at the town of Greenville in Hunt County, Texas.  He was a private in that organization.  Substituted T. C. Shackleford in his place on August 20 or September 1, 1861, depending on which muster roll you read.  The later date is on the last two State Muster Rolls.

C. L. Johnson  Volunteered for the Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861 at the town of Greenville in Hunt County, Texas.  He was a private in that organization.  Is shown to be present on all State Muster Rollsfor this Company.

   He was indebted $8.75 to C.S., reported on the 1861 Muster Roll.  In 1862 he was discharged while on detached service in Texas.

W. S. Jones  A William Jones volunteered for the Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861 at the town of Greenville in Hunt County, Texas.  He was a private in that organization.  The name is given as W. S. Jones with age shown as 31 years on the third State Muster Roll.  He is shown present for all the State Muster Rolls.

   Private W. S. Jones mustered into the Confederate States Service with this Company on October 2, 1861 at Camp Reeves, in Grayson County, Texas.  Major George W. Chilton of the 3rd Texas Cavalry was the Mustering Officer.  He was indebted $6.25 to C.S., reported on the 1861 Muster Roll.  During the February 20, 1863 Muster Roll he was detailed as a Nurse at Hospital near Fayetteville, Tennessee.  He is shown present for duty at the times of the remaining muster rolls.

Green W. Keith  Volunteered for the Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861 at the town of Greenville in Hunt County, Texas.  He was a private in that organization.  His age is shown as 32 years on the third State Muster Roll.  On October 2, 1861 he refused to enroll in the CSA and was discharged.

Thomas Kitchling(s) Enlisted with Company H, 11th Texas Cavalry on January 31, 1862 in Hunt County, Texas by Captain Featherston for 8 months.  Re-enlisted for two years on May 8, 1862.  Detached as Regimental Saddler from July 16, 1863.  Present as same through final Muster Roll.

Walter P. Lacy  Enlisted on November 15, 1861 by M. T. Johnson with Company "B", 14th Texas Cavalry in Denton County, Texas.  Shown as transferred to 11th Texas Cavalry on the February 20, 1863 Muster Roll.  Was on detached service with Gordon's Spy Company by April of 1863.  Reported as "under arrest since 12-12-63" on last two CS muster rolls of the 11th.  No further records.

A. G. Lee  Volunteered for the Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861 at the town of Greenville in Hunt County, Texas.  He was a private in that organization.  His name only appears on the Captain Causler’s State Muster Rolls.

J. W. Lee  Name first appears on the third Texas State Muster Roll, with enlistment information.  This is the only Lee shown on that Muster Roll, but it does no look like either A. G. or W. C. Lee, who were on the previous two Muster Rolls.  Therefore he is shown separately here.  His age is shown as 22 years on the third State Muster Roll.  On October 2, 1861 he refused to enroll in the CSA and was discharged.

William C. Lee  Volunteered for the Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861 at the town of Greenville in Hunt County, Texas.  He was a private in that organization.  Private Lee’s is only on Captain Causler’s State Muster Rolls.

Joshua H. Mabery  One J. H. Mabry volunteered for the Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861 at the town of Greenville in Hunt County, Texas.  He was a private in that organization. His age is shown as 20 years on the third State Muster Roll.  He was present for all State Muster Rolls with this Company.

   Mabery mustered into the Confederate States Service with this Company on October 2, 1861 at Camp Reeves, in Grayson County, Texas.  Major George W. Chilton of the 3rd Texas Cavalry was the Mustering Officer.  He is shown present for the Confederate 1861 Muster Roll, but no further records in file.  This would have been 4 days prior to Captain Featherston's letter to the Adjutant and Inspector General asking to add his name to the company muster roll.  See letter in private John H. Finley's records where his name was spelled: Mayberry.

W. J. Mackey  Enlisted January 31, 1862 in Hunt County, Texas by Captain Featherston.  Then absent, sick, as private L. B. Mackey.  He was at wagon camps, near Sparta, Tennessee in April of 1863.  Received 60 day Furlough on July 10, 1863 by Senior Surgeon Robert Bailey from Atlanta.  Remark on the December 31, 1863 Muster Roll states that he died September 23, 1863.

   Daniel McBride mustered into the Confederate States Service with this Company on October 2, 1861 at Camp Reeves, in Grayson County, Texas.  Major George W. Chilton of the 3rd Texas Cavalry was the Mustering Officer.  He was present for duty until reported absent, left sick, in Knoxville.  He was discharged on October 16, 1862 for disability due to "pulmonary phthisis" by Captain C. T. Downing.  Certificate of Disability gives his birth place as Lauderdale County, Alabama, age 26 and occupation: Farmer.  A Statement of Service Reference Slip was sent to the Chairman of the Oklahoma Pension Board in Oklahoma City on June 30, 1915.

Pleasant McBride  Volunteered for the Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861 at the town of Greenville in Hunt County, Texas.  He was a private in that organization. His age is shown as 17 years on the third State Muster Roll.  Was present for all State Muster Rolls.

   Pleasant McBride mustered into the Confederate States Service with this Company on October 2, 1861 at Camp Reeves, in Grayson County, Texas.  Major George W. Chilton of the 3rd Texas Cavalry was the Mustering Officer.  He was present for all Confederate muster rolls.  Paroled in conformity with General Order No. 56 on May 26, 1865 at Vicksburg.  A letter summarizing his Confederate Military records was sent from the War Department on June 30, 1952 by Major General William E. Bergin, Adjutant General to:

James D. McIlroy  Is shown on the third State Muster Roll to have entered the Texas Cavalry Service with this Company on September 7, 1861.  The last two State Muster Rolls show that J. D. McElroy entered the State Service on September 1, 1861.  Neither name was found in Confederate records for this Company.

George A. McWhorter A soldier shown as George L. McWherter volunteered for the Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861 at the town of Greenville in Hunt County, Texas.  He was a private in that organization.  The third State Muster Roll lists him as G. A. McWhorter with age 19 years.  He was present for all the State Muster Rolls for this Company.

   He was sick in Hospital following the battle in front of Murfreesboro.  Otherwise present through the time of the final Muster Roll.  No further records. 

   McWhorter was born on April 29, 1843 in Missouri. After the war, he was married and lived in the Scatterbranch community near Commerce.  He died on December 8, 1897.  He is buried in the Brigham Cemetary about two miles north of Campbell, Texas.  (Bankhead, 1999)

John Moore  Entered the State Cavalry Service with this Company on September 24, 1861.  He was 17 years old at the time.  Per the last State Muster Roll, on October 1, 1861 he was used as a substitute for private John L. Fox. 

   The last two State Muster Rolls show that a private J. R. More entered the State Service on September 1, 1861.  It is not certain whom those records pertain to, but it is placed here.

   Private John Moore mustered into the Confederate States Service with this Company on October 2, 1861 at Camp Reeves, in Grayson County, Texas.  Major George W. Chilton of the 3rd Texas Cavalry was the Mustering Officer.  He was present for all the Confederate muster rolls of Company H.  Used own horse on the remounting of the regiment.

Robert R. Moore  Entered the State Cavalry Service as a 21 year old private on September 1, 1861.  He substituted for former 1st Corporal William Chafin.

   Private Moore mustered into the Confederate States Service with this Company on October 2, 1861 at Camp Reeves, in Grayson County, Texas.  Major George W. Chilton of the 3rd Texas Cavalry was the Mustering Officer.  He is shown present in 1861 for Confederate service with this Company, but there are no other records in file.

John C. Morgan  Entered the State Cavalry Service with this Company on August 7th or September 1st of 1861 (depending on which Muster Roll you read) as a substitute for William Cook.  He was 20 years old at the time.

   Morgan mustered into the Confederate States Service with this Company on October 2, 1861 at Camp Reeves, in Grayson County, Texas.  Major George W. Chilton of the 3rd Texas Cavalry was the Mustering Officer.  After being in the CSA for more than a year, Morgan was Furloughed from Jackson, Mississippi on December 25, 1862.  A note in the file says: "see Personal Papers of John Estell, 33 Miss. Inft".  No further records on file.

G. G. Morris  Volunteered for the Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861 at the town of Greenville in Hunt County, Texas.  He was a private in that organization.  Private W. W. Watson substituted in his place from August 24, 1861.

Wiley Morris   Enlisted January 31, 1862 in Hunt County, Texas by Captain Featherston.  He was present for duty on all Confederate muster rolls of Company H following that date.  No further records.

Benton Morrow  Volunteered for the Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861 at the town of Greenville in Hunt County, Texas.  He was a private in that organization.  Private Morrow was present for all State Muster Rolls.

   Private Morrow mustered into the Confederate States Service with this Company on October 2, 1861 at Camp Reeves, in Grayson County, Texas.  Major George W. Chilton of the 3rd Texas Cavalry was the Mustering Officer.  He is shown as present for duty on all Confederate muster rolls of Company H.  No further records on file.

Jesse Morrow  Volunteered for the Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861 at the town of Greenville in Hunt County, Texas.  He was a private in that organization. His age is shown as 22 years on the third State Muster Roll.  Private Morrow was present for all State Muster Rolls.

   Private Jesse Morrow mustered into the Confederate States Service with this Company on October 2, 1861 at Camp Reeves, in Grayson County, Texas.  Major George W. Chilton of the 3rd Texas Cavalry was the Mustering Officer.  While in the Confederate organization of this Company, Morrow died in a Hospital at Fayetteville, Arkansas on January 2, 1862.  He was Indebted to the Confederacy $11.50 at the time of his death.

John David Moss  A JB. Moss volunteered for the Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861 at the town of Greenville in Hunt County, Texas.  He was a private in that organization and is first shown on the second State Muster Roll of June 12, 1861.  The remaining State Muster Rolls list John D. or J. D. Moss. His age is shown as 25 years on the third State Muster Roll.  He was present for all State Muster Rolls.

   Private John D. Moss mustered into the Confederate States Service with this Company on October 2, 1861 at Camp Reeves, in Grayson County, Texas.  Major George W. Chilton of the 3rd Texas Cavalry was the Mustering Officer.  He was present, on duty, for all Confederate muster rolls of Company H.  Detailed as Teamster from January 25, 1863.  No further military records.  A statement of service was sent to the Texas Commissioner of Pensions in Austin on May 3, 1916.

Thomas B. Moss  One T.J.B. Moss volunteered for the Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861 at the town of Greenville in Hunt County, Texas.  He was a private in that organization. His age is shown as 18 years on the third State Muster Roll.  He is shown as present for all State Muster Rolls.

   Moss mustered into the Confederate States Service with this Company on October 2, 1861 at Camp Reeves, in Grayson County, Texas.  Major George W. Chilton of the 3rd Texas Cavalry was the Mustering Officer.  He was absent, sick, for the 1861 Confederate Muster Roll.  No further records on file.

George Murray  Name fist appears on the third State Muster Roll as George Murry.  His age is given as 37 years. The fourth State Muster Roll shows that he enlisted on July 10, 1861.

   Murray mustered into the Confederate States Service with this Company on October 2, 1861 at Camp Reeves, in Grayson County, Texas.  Major George W. Chilton of the 3rd Texas Cavalry was the Mustering Officer.  He was present for the 1861 Confederate Muster Roll.  Whether present or absent is not stated on 1862 Muster Roll.  No further records on file.

B. F. Neal  Volunteered for the Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861 at the town of Greenville in Hunt County, Texas.  He was a private in that organization.  Although Neal is shown as above on the first two State Muster Rolls, the third State Muster Roll shows him as a 20 year old substitute for private William Hambrick.  The 4th State Muster Roll shows him discharged for inability on July 10, 1861.

J. J. Nellems  Substituted in place of private John A. Grisham on September 1 or August 7, 1861. His age is shown as 18 years on the third State Muster Roll.  The last name appears as Nelmns and Nelmins on the 4th and 5th State Muster Rolls, respectively.

   Nellems mustered into the Confederate States Service with this Company on October 2, 1861 at Camp Reeves, in Grayson County, Texas.  Major George W. Chilton of the 3rd Texas Cavalry was the Mustering Officer.  He was present for Confederate service with this Company through at least December 31, 1861.  No further records on file.

Junius Newsom  Volunteered for the Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861 at the town of Greenville in Hunt County, Texas.  He was a private in that organization.  His name is listed only on Captain Causler’s State Muster Rolls.  No further records.

Robert L. Newsom Volunteered for the Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861 at the town of Greenville in Hunt County, Texas.  He was a private in that organization. His age is shown as 23 years on the third State Muster Roll.  Private Newsom was present for all the State Muster Rolls for this Company.

   Newsom mustered into the Confederate States Service with this Company on October 2, 1861 at Camp Reeves, in Grayson County, Texas.  Major George W. Chilton of the 3rd Texas Cavalry was the Mustering Officer.  He was absent, sick at Fort Gibson, Indian Territory for the 1861 Confederate Muster Roll.  No further records found.

S. A. Norris  Enlisted March 19, 1862 in Washington County, Arkansas by J. J. Diamond.  Absent, sick, following the battle of Murfreesboro.  Present for duty in February of 1863.  Died March 14, 1863 in Lincoln County, Tennessee.

A. B. Odell  Volunteered for the Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861 at the town of Greenville in Hunt County, Texas.  He was a private in that organization.  Private Odell was present for all State Muster Rolls of this Company.

Odell mustered into the Confederate States Service with this Company on October 2, 1861 at Camp Reeves, in Grayson County, Texas.  Major George W. Chilton of the 3rd Texas Cavalry was the Mustering Officer.  On Confederate records, the last name also written as Odle.  He was under arrest with Provost Marshall in December of 1862.  Present in February of 1863.  Died on March 28, 1863 at the Academy Hospital in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

John Odell  Volunteered for the Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861 at the town of Greenville in Hunt County, Texas.  He was a private in that organization.  Odell was discharged for inability on September 1, 1861.  Private J. E. Cole was a substitute for him from September 7, 1861.

Simon Odell  Volunteered for the Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861 at the town of Greenville in Hunt County, Texas.  He was a private in that organization.  Odell was discharged on July 29, 1861 with remark: “unable for Service.”

Elijah Orr  Volunteered for the Texas State Infantry Company on June 12, 1861 at the town of Greenville in Hunt County, Texas.  He was a private in that organization. His age is shown as 19 years on the third State Muster Roll.  Private Orr is shown present on all the State Muster Rolls for this Company.

   Orr mustered into the Confederate States Service with this Company on October 2, 1861 at Camp Reeves, in Grayson County, Texas.  Major George W. Chilton of the 3rd Texas Cavalry was the Mustering Officer.  He was wounded at the battle of Murfreesboro.  At wagon camp near Sparta, Tennessee, detailed as a Blacksmith on February 1, 1863.  Blacksmith detail continued through the time of the final Muster Roll.

William L. Pratchard Enlisted on January 31, 1862 in Hunt County, Texas by Captain Featherston.  Soon joined company in Arkansas.  Sick in Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia in April of 1863.  Captured at the battle of Chickamauga on about September 20, 1863. 

Pratchard was taken to Military Prison in Louisville, Kentucky "for exchange" on October 1, 1863.  He was then forwarded to Camp Douglas, Illinois and died there on November 13, 1863 of inflammation of the lungs.  Buried in the City Cemetery at Chicago in grave no. _35.  Can't read the 1st number, it may be a 1 or a 6. 

J. N. Price  Volunteered for Captain Causler’s Company if Infantry at the town of Greenville in Hunt County, Texas on June 12, 1861.  He was a private in that unit.  Substituted Thomas Price in his place on August 13, 1861.  However, the last two State Muster Rolls show that on October 2, 1861 he refused to enroll in the CSA and was discharged.

Thomas Price  Is shown as a substitute for private J. N. Price from August 13, 1861. His age is shown as 21 years on the third State Muster Roll.  This name does not appear on the remaining State Muster Rolls.  No further records.

N. C. Reynolds  Volunteered for Captain Causler’s Company if Infantry at the town of Greenville in Hunt County, Texas on June 12, 1861.  He was a private in that unit.  Private J. W. Williams substituted in his stead on September 1, 1861.  Last name shown as Runnels on the 4th State Muster Roll.  No Confederate records for this soldier with Company H were found.

Jesse R. Ridgill  A soldier shown as Jesse Rigell volunteered for Captain Causler’s Company if Infantry at the town of Greenville in Hunt County, Texas on June 12, 1861.  He was a private in that unit.  That is probably the same man. His age is shown as 18 years on the third State Muster Roll. The last name appears as Riggell, Ridgel and Ridgil in other State Muster Rolls.  He was present for all State Muster Rolls with this Company. 

   Private Ridgill mustered into the Confederate States Service with this Company on October 2, 1861 at Camp Reeves, in Grayson County, Texas.  Major George W. Chilton of the 3rd Texas Cavalry was the Mustering Officer.  On CSA records, the last name is also shown spelled: Rigle.  He was discharged at Shelbyville, Tennessee on February 22, 1863 by W. E. Dyer for "permanent deformity to both hands caused by burns".  Born in Montgomery County, Texas and aged 20 years at time of discharge.  Paid for travel back to Camp Reeves Texas a distance said to be 1425 miles @ $0.10/mile or $142.50.

John R. Riley  A John Riley volunteered for Captain Causler’s Company if Infantry at the town of Greenville in Hunt County, Texas on June 12, 1861.  He was a private in that unit.  The third State Muster Roll shows him as J. R. Riley, as in the Confederate records. His age is shown as 17 years on the third State Muster Roll.  His shown present in the ranks for all the State Muster Rolls for this Company.

   Riley mustered into the Confederate States Service with this Company on October 2, 1861 at Camp Reeves, in Grayson County, Texas.  Major George W. Chilton of the 3rd Texas Cavalry was the Mustering Officer.  He served with the Confederate Company until reported absent, sick, on 1862 Muster Roll.  Present by February 20, 1863.  Listed as: sick at Hospital in Rome, Georgia from October 1, 1863 through final Muster Roll.  No further records.

H. B. Shackleford  A soldier shown as A.B. Shackelford volunteered for Captain Causler’s Company if Infantry at the town of Greenville in Hunt County, Texas on June 12, 1861.  He was a private in that unit.  The third State Muster Roll shows him as H.B. Shackelford, at 18 years of age.  He is shown present in the ranks for all State Muster Rolls for this Company.

   Private H. B. Shackleford mustered into the Confederate States Service with this Company on October 2, 1861 at Camp Reeves, in Grayson County, Texas.  Major George W. Chilton of the 3rd Texas Cavalry was the Mustering Officer.  He was present for all Confederate muster rolls of Company H.  Used own horse on the remounting of the regiment.  No further records.

T. C Shackleford  Substituted in the Texas State Cavalry Service for private Robert T. Jackson from August 20 or September 1, 1861. His age is shown as 22 years on the third State Muster Roll.  The September date of substitution is shown on the last two State Muster Rolls.

   Private T. C. Shackleford mustered into the Confederate States Service with this Company on October 2, 1861 at Camp Reeves, in Grayson County, Texas.  Major George W. Chilton of the 3rd Texas Cavalry was the Mustering Officer.  He was reported as Sick in camp in February of 1863, but back on duty by April of 1863.  Reported as captured in July 1863 at Manchester, Tennessee in company records. 

Union records state that he was captured on June 27, 1863, same location.  Sent to Fort Delaware via prisons at Franklin, Tennessee, Nashville, Tennessee, Louisville, Kentucky and Camp Chase in Ohio.  He was received at Fort Delaware in Delaware on July 14, 1863.  No further records.

John Shaw  The 3rd State Muster Roll shows Shaw entered the Texas State Cavalry organization of this Company on September 13, 1861.  He was then18 years old.  The last two State Muster Rolls show that private Shaw entered the State Service on September 1, 1861.

   Shaw mustered into the Confederate States Service with this Company on October 2, 1861 at Camp Reeves, in Grayson County, Texas.  Major George W. Chilton of the 3rd Texas Cavalry was the Mustering Officer.  He died at Fort Gibson, Indian Territory on December 27, 1861.  Was indebted $2.60 to the C.S.

S. O. Stockton  Last name also shown as Storton.  Enlisted in Company H, 11th Texas Caalry on January 31, 1862 in Hunt County, Texas by C. H. Featherston.  He was wounded in the Battle of Murfreesboro.  Used own horse on the remounting of the regiment.  He was present for all Confederate muster rolls of Company taken after the time of his enlistmet.  No further records.

J. J. Stokes  Volunteered for Captain Causler’s Company if Infantry at the town of Greenville in Hunt County, Texas on June 12, 1861.  He was a private in that unit. His age is shown as 21 years on the third State Muster Roll.  He is shown present in the ranks for all State Muster Rolls for this Company.

   Private Stokes mustered into the Confederate States Service with this Company on October 2, 1861 at Camp Reeves, in Grayson County, Texas.  Major George W. Chilton of the 3rd Texas Cavalry was the Mustering Officer.  He was discharged from CSA on January 20, 1862, as indicated by a Register of payments to discharged soldiers from T. W. Randolph.

William M. Stubbs Entered the Texas State Cavalry Service with this Company on September 20, 1861.  He was 22 years old.  Stubbs was discharged for inability on October 10, 1861, per the 3rd State Muster Roll.  His name does not show up on the 4th or 5th State Muster Roll.

A. A, Traylor  The only record found of this soldier is on the third State Muster Roll.  No age or enlistment information is given.

O. C. Taylor  The third State Muster Roll shows an O. C. Traylor entered the State Service on August 27, 1861.  No age is given.  This is probably the same soldier.  The last two State Muster Rolls show that O. C. Traylor entered the State Service on September 1, 1861.

   Taylor mustered into the Confederate States Service with this Company on October 2, 1861 at Camp Reeves, in Grayson County, Texas.  Major George W. Chilton of the 3rd Texas Cavalry was the Mustering Officer.  He is shown present for Confederate service only on the December 31, 1861 Muster Roll.

Robert Taylor  First apparent record of this soldier is a Robert Traylor shown on the third State Muster Roll. No age or enlistment information is given. The last two State Muster Rolls show that Robert H. Traylor entered the State Service on September 1, 1861.

   Private Taylor mustered into the Confederate States Service with this Company on October 2, 1861 at Camp Reeves, in Grayson County, Texas.  Major George W. Chilton of the 3rd Texas Cavalry was the Mustering Officer.   He was wounded at the Battle of Murfreesboro.  Was absent and at Hospital in Knoxville on February 28, 1863.  He was found there and sent to duty on April 25, 1863.  Present, on duty on April 30, 1863 and through final CS Muster Roll of Company H. 

Private Taylor's name appears on a Roll of Prisoners of War of Company "G", 11th Regiment Texas Volunteer Cavalry, C.S.A., commanded by A. C. Bailey, surrendered at Citronelle, Alabama on May 4, 1865.  Paroled at Columbus, Mississippi later in May.  No exact date given.  Residence given was Collin County, Texas.

William Voyles  Volunteered for Captain Causler’s Company if Infantry at the town of Greenville in Hunt County, Texas on June 12, 1861.  He was a private in that unit.  Age is given as 25 years old on the third State Muster Roll.  On October 2, 1861 he refused to enroll in the CSA and was discharged.

W. P. Wagoner  A soldier with name appearing to be W. W. Wagoner entered the Texas State Cavalry Service with this Company on September 20, 1861.  He was 24 years old at the time.  The last two State Muster Rolls show that W. P. Wagner or Waggoner entered the State Service on September 1, 1861.

   He mustered into the Confederate States Service with this Company on October 2, 1861 at Camp Reeves, in Grayson County, Texas.  Major George W. Chilton of the 3rd Texas Cavalry was the Mustering Officer.  His last name is also listed as Wagner in Confederate records.  Absent, on detached service, for the 1861 Confederate Muster Roll.  Then present until transferred to Company "A", 15th (34th) Texas Cavalry on January 23, 1863.  The 34th Texas Cavalry was a dismounted regiment.

S. C. Walker  Mustered into the Confederate States Service with this Company on October 2, 1861 at Camp Reeves, in Grayson County, Texas.  Major George W. Chilton of the 3rd Texas Cavalry was the Mustering Officer.  He was discharged while on Detached Service in Texas in 1861.

William T. Walker Enlisted January 31, 1862 in Hunt County, Texas by C. H. Featherston.  He was reported as missing, supposed killed, in the Battle of Murfreesboro.  The April 30, 1863 Muster Roll remarks read: "Wounded and taken prisoner at the battle of Murfreesboro." 

Federal records show Walker captured at Stone's River and nothing more. 
It has since been discovered that private Walker died and was buried in a mass grave near Murfreesboro in what became known as the Old Confederate Cemetery.  Later over 2000 bodies were removed and buried again in what is called the Confederate Circle of Heros at the Evergreen Cemetery in Murfreesboro (Murfreesboro Monitor, December 7, 1867).  W. T. Walker's name and unit was published on January 28, 1882 in the Nashville Banner as part of a list of men whose names had appeared on wooden markers in Confederate Circle.  This list was published by the Sons of Confederate Veterans Murfreesboro Camp Number 1355.

Nathaniel Wallace Volunteered for Captain Causler’s Company if Infantry at the town of Greenville in Hunt County, Texas on June 12, 1861.  He was a private in that unit.  Age is given as 34 years old on the third Texas State Muster Roll.  On October 2, 1861 he refused to enroll in the CSA and was discharged.

A. J. Wheeler  A Soldier whose name appears to be A. P. Wheeler entered the Texas State Cavalry Service shown as a substitute for “Robert Rawley” on September 7, 1861.  This record was on the third State Muster Roll.  No age is given for him.  However, no Robert Rawley (or similar) appears to have been recorded as serving in this Company. The last two State Muster Rolls show that Wheeler entered the State Service on September 1, 1861.

Private Wheeler mustered into the Confederate States Service with this Company on October 2, 1861 at Camp Reeves, in Grayson County, Texas.  Major George W. Chilton of the 3rd Texas Cavalry was the Mustering Officer.  He was on Detached Service with the CSA unit in November and December of 1861.  Sick at Hospital for December 31, 1862 Muster Roll.  Present for duty from February 20, 1863 through final Muster Roll.  Received extra pay as teamster work from March 12th to April 30th of 1863.  No further records.

James Willhelm Volunteered for Captain Causler’s Company if Infantry at the town of Greenville in Hunt County, Texas on June 12, 1861.  He was a private in that unit.  Age is given as 21 years old on the third Texas State Muster Roll.  He is shown present for all State Muster Rolls.

   Willhelm mustered into the Confederate States Service with this Company on October 2, 1861 at Camp Reeves, in Grayson County, Texas.  Major George W. Chilton of the 3rd Texas Cavalry was the Mustering Officer.  He was absent, sick, at Fort Gibson, Indian Nation for the 1861 Confederate Muster Roll.  Then present in 1862 and until "transferred to White's Battalion (Artillery) by order of General Wharton" was noted on April 30, 1863 Muster Roll.  No further records with Company "H".

Chilton of the 3rd Texas Cavalry was the Mustering Officer.  He was on detached Confederate service for 54 days in 1861.  Discharged June 23, 1862 at Priceville, Mississippi.  Given Certificate of Disability which shows he was born in Camden County, Missouri, was 20 years old and a Farmer prior to enlistment.  The disability is shown as "Hypertrophy of the Heart" by D. B. Burks, Acting Surgeon.  Captain C. T. Downing requested the discharge.

W. J. Wilson  A soldier whose name appears to be M. J. Wilson volunteered for Captain Causler’s Company if Infantry at the town of Greenville in Hunt County, Texas on June 12, 1861. He was a private in that unit. Age is given as 34 years old on the third Texas State Muster Roll.  Captain Featherston’s State Muster Rolls show his first initials as W. J.  He is shown present in the ranks for all State Muster Rolls for this Company.

   Wilson mustered into the Confederate States Service with this Company on October 2, 1861 at Camp Reeves, in Grayson County, Texas.  Major George W. Chilton of the 3rd Texas Cavalry was the Mustering Officer.  His last name also shown as Willson in Confederate records.  He was present for duty with CSA Company until on last two muster rolls, where it is noted that he was Detached with Captain Porter (A.Q.M.) since October 25, 1863, collecting beef cattle.  No further records.
